GVDN welcomes Professor Jim Buttery as third Co-Director

The Global Vaccine Data Network expanded our leadership and welcomed Professor Jim Buttery as our third Co-Director. Jim has an extensive interest and experience in vaccine safety analyses and the use of large linked databases. He also brings experience in vaccine related communication to support vaccine confidence. In the spirit of a global organisation, GVDN leadership draws on experts from three countries, Australia, New Zealand, and the U.S., and our Scientific Advisory Committee experts from six countries, Canada, China, England, Finland, India, and the Netherlands.

Jim is a paediatric infectious diseases physician at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne and a vaccinologist. He is the Head of of Epidemiology and Surveillance for SAEFVIC at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute and holds the inaugural Chair in Child Health Informatics at the University of Melbourne. Jim serves on the Advisory Committee on Vaccines for the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration and is a member of the Brighton Collaboration Science Board.
